When Shashi Menon and Jim Ramm founded EcoEngineers in 2009, it was a watershed year for the biofuels industry. New regulations in the U.S. and around the world revolutionized the way we fuel our vehicles and the value we place on the energy in natural and waste resources. These regulations laid the groundwork for an international biofuel community to grow and flourish — and created complex and ever-changing compliance requirements. Many in the industry found it challenging to keep up with the new regulations. Eco was formed to bridge this gap.
We established deep expertise across the regulated markets and created a platform to interact with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Central Data Exchange to manage Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) and compliance data under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).
We also brought to market one of the first RFS RIN Quality Assurance Programs (QAP) to assure the quality of RINs produced through comprehensive data review and site audits.
Over the years, we also developed a comprehensive approach to guiding our clients through the clean energy economy — establishing EcoConsulting, EcoAuditing, and EcoUniversity — to help hundreds of municipalities, industry leading companies, and innovative tech startups achieve their net-zero and ESG goals.
We continue to evolve our business to predict and meet the needs of our clients in this ever-changing industry — expanding into new markets, such as voluntary carbon markets, petrochemicals, and hydrogen, and into new territories, including Canada and Europe.
In 2023, we evolved our brand to better illustrate this transformative journey that we are on with our clients — to create a world where clean energy fuels a healthy planet.
At the heart of our brand is a focus on creating a vibrant work culture for our extraordinary, talented team of people who create outstanding experiences for our clients and develop innovative solutions to solve the world’s most pressing challenges.
